Mercy Captures 2014 SCC Girls Basketball Title

Top-seeded Mercy (22-1) defeated #2 Career, 56-32, in the 2014 SCC Girls Basketball Championship Game on Feb. 26 at the TD Bank Sports Center on the campus of Quinnipiac University.   It was a rematch of the 2013 championship game, won by Career. 

Tournament Most Outstanding Player Maura Fitzpatrick of Mercy scored a game-high 20 points and pulled down seven rebounds to lead the Tigers, who captured their second SCC title (2007).

Hillhouse's Bria Holmes To Play in McDonald's All-America Girls Basketball Game

Congratulations to Hillhouse senior girls basketball star Bria Holmes, who is the first player from the state of Connecticut to be selected to play in the prestigious McDonald's All-America Game.  The game will be played on Wednesday, March 28 at the United Center in Chicago.  Holmes, a four-time SCC All-Hammonasset Division selection, led the Academics to two SCC and three state Class LL titles during her scholastic career.   Holmes has signed a letter-of-intent to attend West Virginia University.
