Hillhouse's Bria Holmes To Play in McDonald's All-America Girls Basketball Game

Congratulations to Hillhouse senior girls basketball star Bria Holmes, who is the first player from the state of Connecticut to be selected to play in the prestigious McDonald's All-America Game.  The game will be played on Wednesday, March 28 at the United Center in Chicago.  Holmes, a four-time SCC All-Hammonasset Division selection, led the Academics to two SCC and three state Class LL titles during her scholastic career.   Holmes has signed a letter-of-intent to attend West Virginia University.

SCC 1-2-3: Hillhouse, Career and Mercy Finish as Top Three Girls Basketball Teams in State

SCC and three-time defending Class L state champion Hillhouse (25-2) finished as the top-ranked team in the season-ending New Haven Register and Hartford Courant girls basketball polls.   Class LL state champion Career (22-5) and SCC and Class LL runner-up Mercy (24-3) finished second and third, respectively.   It is the first time that the SCC has the top three teams in the season-ending polls.
