Cheerleading - News

The Southern Connecticut Conference hosted its seventh Cheerleading Competition on February 4, at East Haven High School.  Sixteen SCC schools participated in the competition in three divisions: exhibition, co-ed and all-girl.   Congratulations to Cheshire (all-girl champions), Daniel Hand (all-girl 1st runner-up) and Sacred Heart Academy (all-girl 2nd runner-up).  Shelton was the co-ed division champion.  In addition, the Branford Unified team, which competed in the exhibition division, earned the Spirit Award.  The Spirit Award is given to the team that bets embodies the word spirit and effort and is determined by the competition's judges.

The 2011 SCC Cheerleading Competition was held on Friday, February 11 at East Haven High School. 

Final Results

15-over Division: North Haven (76.5), Foran (72.5), Cheshire (67), Sacred Heart Academy (65), Mercy (57), East Haven (53.5), Sheehan (38.5), Lyman Hall (23.5)

14-under Divison: Hamden (38.5)

Co-Ed Division: Shelton (78), Branford (74)

Novice: Career (24.5)

Spirit Award: Shelton

The 2010 SCC Cheerleading Competition was held on Saturday, February 6 at North Haven High School...Sixteen schools participated in four divisions:  Novice: Career, Wilbur Cross and Hillhouse; Co-Ed: Branford; 14-under: West Haven, Hand and Lyman Hall; 15-over: Mercy, East Haven, Sacred Heart Academy, Foran, North Haven, Shelton, Cheshire, Sheehan and Jonathan Law

Novice Champion: Career

Co-ed Champion: Branford

14-under Champion: West Haven

15-over Champion: Shelton

Spirit Award: Branford
