SCC to hold first SCC Girls Tennis Postseason Tournament
(4-11-06) - The Southern Connecticut Conference will hold its first postseason tournament for boys and girls tennis this coming May, the league’s Athletic Directors announced today. There will be a four-team, single-elimination tournament between the four regular-season division champions (Hammonasset, Housatonic, Oronoque and Quinnipiac).
“This is another positive step for the conference because our tennis student-athletes and teams can now compete for a SCC championship,” said SCC Commissioner Al Carbone. “I give credit to the tennis coaches for recognizing this positive opportunity and seeing it through.”
With the addition of the boys and girls tennis playoffs, the SCC now hosts postseason tournaments for 23 of its 26 interscholastic sponsored sports.
