SCC Teams Up with SportingNewsCT.com on Internet Webcast Partnership

9/13/05

The Southern Connecticut Conference announces a partnership with the start-up sports website – www.SportingNewsCT.com - to webcast a variety of sporting events during the 2005-06 academic year.

http://www.sportingnewsct.comSportingNewsCT.com will broadcast a variety of SCC-sponsored sports, including football, boys and girls soccer and field hockey contests this fall. The first game will be the Hamden-West Haven football contest on Friday, September 16. In addition, several SCC playoff competitions will be broadcast throughout the year.

“This is a tremendous opportunity to promote the SCC and its member schools and student-athletes,” SCC Commissioner Al Carbone said. “The exposure, coupled with the technological capabilities of the Internet, is an important step in the growth and success of this conference.”

"We're very excited to have SCC on board as a partner in our new venture," SNCT Operations Manager Don Boyle commented. "The Southern Connecticut Conference is perhaps the best athletic league in the state, and we're looking forward to helping promote the league, its schools, teams and student-athletes on our webcasts."

SportingNewsCT.com began webcasting in July 2005, covering local and regional sports such as the Nutmeg State Games as well as Southern Connecticut State University football. SportingNewsCT is working on adding more local and regional sports programming to the growing lineup from Greater New Haven and the entire state.
