2 STATE TITLES FOR SCC FOOTBALL -- Hand Wins Class L;  Xavier Captures Class LL!

The SCC has won six state titles in the last three seasons.  Congratulations to four SCC teams -- Xavier (LL), Hand (L), North Haven (L) and Notre Dame (L) -- for earning state playoff berths.   Two teams - Xavier and Hand - reached the championship round on December 10 at Rentschler Field in East Hartford.... Class L - Hand 34, New Canaan 10 - Tigers win a state title for first time since 2005... Tigers finish 13-0 - 3rd team in SCC history to do so.

Class LL - Xavier 42, vs. Staples 7 - Falcons (13-0) win second straight state title; extend winning streak to 26 games.

SEMIFINALS - Saturday, December 3

Class LL Semifinals - #1 Xavier 55, #5 Norwalk 14.

The Falcons (12-0) advance to second straight Class LL final... Xavier has also become the first SCC team to score 500 points in a season... The Falcons have 512 points through 12 games (42.6 ppg)... The previous record was held by Notre Dame (468 points in 12 games in 2009).

Class L Semifinals - #2 Hand 35, #3 Masuk 14

The Tigers (12-0) advance to first championship game since 2007 - when it lost to New Canaan in Class MM final.
