Sixth Annual SCC Arts Exhibition Prizes Awarded

Grand Opening was Tuesday, April 22 at 5:30 p.m. at Creative Arts Workshop in New Haven; Exhibition showcased until April 26

The sixth annual SCC Student Arts Exhibition is being held the week of April 21-26 at the Creative Arts Workshop on Audubon Street in New Haven. The exhibition features 60 selections of outstanding student-originated visual arts in a variety of media. Each SCC member school had the opportunity to submit up to three works. 

A grand opening of the show with refreshments, sponsor recognition, and award presentations was held on Tuesday, April 22.

Prizes were awarded by a jury of professional artists and arts administrators coordinated through CAW Executive Director Susan Smith. 

1st Prize: Tyler E. Reep, Daniel Hand (charcoal drawing), $100

2nd Prize: Philip Beamon, Career (conceptual, basketball), $75

3rd Prize: Helen Xu, Cheshire (pastel), $50

4th Prize: David Van Epps, Guilford (clay), $40

5th Prize: Shawn Kavanaugh, Branford (glass), $35
